The Food Systems Project School Garden-Based Mini Documentary is Here!

After a year of filming and splicing, the extremely talented videographer and volunteer
extraordinaire Jean-Dee Rogers has completed the
Food Systems Project School Garden-
Based Nutrition Education mini-documentary. The goal of this documentary is to allow everyone
the opportunity to experience the joys of our program and the smiles it brings to 1,000 children
each month of the school year.  So, take a few moments and check out what we’ve made
possible!  We hope you enjoy it!  Don’t forget, if you would like to volunteer, or if you have a
question about our program, please contact
Joy Baldwin at (517) 999-2894.

Donate - Our Gardens Need Your Support!

As many of you may know, the Food Systems Project School Garden-Based Nutrition Education
Program has become a staple at a few of the local elementary schools in the area. This
program is funded by the Michigan Nutrition Network, which covers this nutrition education
component. However, every hose, glove and seed are made possible by community donations
from caring individuals like you. These unrestricted funds not only support gardens currently
serving over 1,000 students at
Mid-Michigan Leadership Academy, Riddle, Cavanaugh, & Willow
Elementary schools, but they also support the stipend for our AmeriCorps Volunteer
Coordinator. Without this Coordinator, we would not be able to secure nearly 200 volunteers,
totaling contributions of over 2,000 hours of service each year.

If you are passionate about helping our youth lead healthy, informed lives, please consider
donating to this great cause. You could help us reach our goal of $3,000 in unrestricted funds to
help this program and our children grow. If you would like to donate, or if you have questions
about our program, please contact
Joy Baldwin at (517) 999-2894.
