Westside Commercial Association

The Westside Commercial Association exists to help
businesses located on Lansing’s Westside flourish by:
- Increasing communication and cooperation amongst
area businesses,
- Providing trainings and other assistance,
- Helping businesses tap into community resources
and financing to grow their business and improve the
business district,
- Mobilizing businesses to advocate for public
investments to their area

Other Assistance from Westside Commercial
Association and NorthWest Initiative
- Spring and Fall Clean Sweeps: volunteer clean-ups,
litter and weed removal, sidewalk edging, painting,
and other projects to improve the appearance of the
business district and nearby neighborhoods.
- Beautification: flower planters, garbage cans, and
other decorative elements along Saginaw Street.
- Westside Summer Fest: farmers’ market, children’s
activities, and local music, last weekend in July on or
near Saginaw Street.
- Westside 411: quarterly newsletter for the Westside
Business Districts.
- Grand Happenings: monthly newsletter to NorthWest
Lansing residents and businesses, featuring
community news and local business promotions.
- Advocacy: mobilizing grassroots support, and
developing resources for, traffic calming, utility burial,
and street trees along Saginaw Street.
- Resource Development: raising funds to enhance
commercial, residential, and public property in the
business district and nearby neighborhoods.

$250 Large Business (>50 employees)
$100 Mid-Size Business (25-50 employees)
$50 Small Business (5-24 employees)
$25 Micro-Business (1-4 employees)
